Janjic graduated college in Australia with Bachelors in law and finance. She briefly worked as a banker. In the spring of 2010 she moved to Canada to train with Lance Storm at his Storm Wrestling Academy and graduated from it in May 2010. Irena was also featured on the Canadian reality show World of Hurt, focusing on wrestlers training with Lance Storm at his wrestling academy. In March 2011, she was signed by WWE to a developmental contract after a tryout with them. On June 22, 2011, Irena made her FCW debut at a house show teaming up with the returning Caylee Turner and faced the team of Sonia and Audrey Marie.
